Description

This process covers two steps in the asset lifecycle – that of decommission and disposal. It is also used when leased equipment is due to be returned to the vendor. When the decision is made that an asset has reached the end of its life, it is taken out of active service so the decommissioning process can commence. During this phase of the lifecycle, the asset will be identified as due for disposal / return to lessor, it will have its hard drive wiped, and will be sent off-site to the lessor or to be disposed of in accordance with environmental and security regulations.
